Piedmont Henry Hospital is committed to the health and wellness of our community. Educators provide group programs, either at Piedmont Henry Hospital or at other community locations. Programs may be free or fee-based. Programs are offered throughout the year, call 678-604-1040 to find out about specific programs.
Register online for the following programs:
Fresh Start (Smoking Cessation/ACS): Four 1-hour sessions over 4 weeks for tobacco users who want to quit and stay quit. For more information on the Fresh Start Program, visit the American Cancer Society. Candidates for this program must have been a tobacco user in the past 12 months. If attending this program to remove surcharges from insurance premium, all four sessions must be attended. Non-smokers (users more than 12 months ago) must contact their employer for questions regarding their insurance premiums. Click here to register.

HeartSaver First Aid/CPR: This course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes CPR, choking and first aid for adults children and infants. It is designed for those who are required by their job to respond to medical emergencies. There is a course fee. Health Care Provider CPR: This course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, use of an automated external defibrillator and relief of choking. This course is designed for professionals or students working in a health care environment such as nurses, physicians, dentists and/or their staff. It contains supplemental information for interested students on topics such as stroke, cardiac arrest, and special resuscitation situations. The course is video-based with instructor-led discussion and simulation. Students participate, practice and complete various skills and learning stations. There is a course fee. Let’s Get Acquainted: The 1-hour program offers expectant parents the opportunity to tour Piedmont Henry Hospital’s Marcia G. Taylor Women’s Center including admissions, labor and delivery, newborn nursery, mother baby area, and Piedmont Henry Hospital’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The tour begins in the North Tower Lobby five minutes after the scheduled class start time.Click here to register.

Sibling Tour: The free 1-hour Sibling Tour helps to prepare siblings for the arrival of their new brother or sister. The tour is for children ages 2 to 10 years old and includes a stop by the newborn nursery and information about what to expect when the new baby arrives. Childbirth Education: Independent contractors offer childbirth education in the Henry County area. You may contact them to learn more about the classes offered. First Steps: Offers emotional support, current parenting information, community resources and follow up contacts to parents of newborns. The program also offers telephone follow up for the baby’s first three to six months. Call 770-507-9900 for more information or to volunteer.

Paradise Empowers Teen Parent Program (PETPP): A parent education program for pregnant or parenting teenagers under 20-years-old who reside in Henry County. Home visits are held once a month. Classes meet second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Women’s Services Classroom on the 4th Floor of the hospital’s North Tower. Call 678-472-2427 for more information.
