Hospitalist Program
A TeamHealth hospitalist is on duty at Piedmont Henry Hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The hospitalist provides care to patients referred by on staff physicians. Upon discharge, the hospitalist transfers care of the patient back to the referring physician.
The hospitalist program is beneficial to patients at Piedmont Henry Hospital because it provides patients with continual management of their care during their hospital stay. Patients do not necessarily need to wait for their primary care physician to make rounds before learning test results, having more tests ordered, given treatment options, or being discharged. The program can ultimately get patients back home to their daily routines quicker.
